Courthouse Outdoor Public Use Permit


This Courthouse Outdoor Public Use Permit allows access to the Bedford County Courthouse Lawn for public events. The Shelbyville-Bedford Chamber of Commerce facilitates the Courthouse Lawn Event Calendar and public use permit submission.

Event Guidelines

Security | If security is required for your event, the organizer will incur the cost. 

Bathrooms | The county does not provide janitorial service during your event, so it is recommended that you designate a person/people to monitor the bathrooms. The bathrooms will be appropriately stocked with sufficient paper towels and toilet paper. 

During your event, it is your responsibility to: 

Supply additional paper towels and toilet paper, if needed 

Clean up after patrons in the bathrooms - spills and accidents

Emergencies | In the event of a health emergency, please call 911. If a toilet overflows, a pipe breaks, or there are other building issues, including electrical, please call 931- 703-0639 and leave a message if you receive voicemail. This number is to be used for building maintenance issues only, not for janitorial issues.

Access

All electrical lines and extension cord placement must be covered to prevent a trip hazard. Extension cords shall not be overloaded. The applicant is liable for any damages to the facilities, equipment, and grounds.
